Our History

Over thirty years ago, the personal pursuit of a remarkable cup of coffee proved futile, spawning a pioneer in the specialty coffee industry. On the corner of Eighth and Windsor, in the heart of the city of Reading, Pennsylvania, the Reading Coffee Company was born. With the iconic Reading Railroad at our backdoor and a growing following of coffee devotees at our front, the Reading Coffee Company has grown to be the area’s leading specialty coffee authority.

Now nestled in beautiful Berks County, thirty-one years later, Reading Coffee is under its second generation of ownership.  With its renewed commitment to unsurpassed quality, ethically traded coffee and earth-friendly sustainability, Reading Coffee imports fine coffees from throughout the world and roasts in small batches each day.  Our roasting process remains passionate and time-honored and the result varies from the best of single-origins and rare exotics to extraordinary flavors and unique blends.

We strive to build long-standing relationships with our customers both in our factory store and online throughout the world, including wholesale customers, café owners, restaurateurs and private label clients.
